Martin "Marty" Clayman
Certified SCORE MentorMartin A. Clayman is a semi-retired attorney with over 50 years of experience representing businesses in all phases of development. He has had extensive dealings with most types of commercial matters including start-ups, dissolutions, acquisitions, corporate issues and disputes, trademarks, leasing, secured transactions, franchising and commercial litigation.
He has been an Arbitrator for more than 40 years on the Commercial Neutrals Panel of the American Arbitration Association.
Attorney Clayman was a member of the Connecticut Bar Association ( CBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA). He founded and chaired the Franchise Law Section of the CBA and served on the Forum Committee on Franchising of the ABA. A SCORE mentor for more than 3 years, he has frequently conducted seminars, lectured and written articles about franchise matters.
He founded a law firm, Clayman, Tapper and Baram, LLC and was senior member of the firm for many years. In 2012 he became a partner with the law firm of Hassett & George, PC for five years and presently is Of Counsel to the firm.
